I’d never really heard the modern political term “progressive” until 2008, when I saw a CNN news segment with Senator Hillary Clinton, who referred to herself as a lifelong progressive; Clinton was on a stage, honoring a senior citizen identified as Frances Fox Piven. I’d never heard of Piven before. To me a progressive just meant someone who believed in progress. I believed in progress, so I assumed being a progressive must be a good thing.
I was dead wrong.
This morning I read a transcript of a speech by David Horowitz that is the best explanation of a progressive I’ve heard or read. Mr. Horowitz grew up in a progressive household and was taught to hold progressive beliefs himself. He not only explains what a progressive is, but he explains why and how America finds itself in the terrible position we’re in today.
The Horowitz speech was published on FrontPage Mag’s website today, 10/13/13. Click here to read. Hopefully you’ll find the time to read it and, though it’s easy reading, it may need to be read several times in order to comprehend it all, as the explanation is quite intense.
What about Frances Fox Piven?
Progressives Frances Fox Piven and Richard Cloward co-authored the “Cloward and Piven Strategy” in 1966 under the inspiration of community organizer and former organized crime member Saul Alinsky. The Cloward and Piven Strategy outlined a plan to bring about the fall of capitalism in America by overburdening the system with unaffordable welfare programs, causing financial collapse, causing social collapse. Simply put, the Cloward and Piven Strategy outlines a way to cause the collapse and ultimately the fundamental change of the United States of America. Sound familiar?
To learn more about the Cloward and Piven Strategy, click here for an article written by Richard Poe and published by DiscoveryTheNetworks.org in 2005.
And what about Hillary Clinton?
Ms. Clinton, the wife of progressive former-President Bill Clinton, was elected Senator for New York as a Democrat/progressive for eight years, and four years as Secretary of State under Democrat/progressive Barrack Obama. Ms. Clinton was Secretary of State during the Bengazi scandal, where and American ambassador and four military veterans were left to brutal deaths in Libya and denied any help by the American government. Ms. Clinton’s most famous comment about the Bengazi murders came when she blasted a U.S. Senator shouting “What difference does it make!!” during a Senate hearing investigating the tragedy. What really happened at Bengazi is still kept hidden, and government witnesses to the event have been forbidden by the White House to speak about it. It is widely accepted that Ms. Clinton plans to run for President of the United States in 2016.
Still aren’t sure what a progressive is? Maybe it’s time you find out. You can start by searching “Saul Alinsky”, by reading his book “Rules for Radicals” (and make sure you read the Dedication page and note who Alinsky dedicated the book to), or searching “Cloward and Piven Strategy” on the internet.
One think we can all do, and hopefully all agree on, is to pray on it.
Dearest Jesus, Father of all that is good, we pray to you.
These are difficult times, Lord. Over the past four decades, truth and justice have become blurred through misinformation and lies. Those lies often smear our perceptions, as they were intended to do, and so many of us now struggle to know what to do, or what to believe.
Lord, too many who run for political office and get elected speaking using the tongue of the serpent, serving only themselves, or the Evil One. We pray that we will be able to identify and elect good, honest people as our leaders, and that the people we elect pass good laws, fair and just to all, laws that respect the people and honor you, Lord.
Dearest Jesus, please, help those who are already elected to see the truth, and follow the truth. Please help our leaders follow the beliefs of our Founding Fathers and the ideals set forth in our Constitution.
Please help all of us, Lord, as we struggle to find and recognize Your path. Help us to clearly distinguish Your way from the wrong way, help us to separate the truth from the lies, and help us find the path that follows and serves You. And once we find the path, please give us the courage and strength to follow it.
We love you, Father, and we honor You. Please help us in this time of need.
